Willie Lee Barnes Jr., has departed this life to be with God at the age of 67. He was born on September 3, 1955, and sadly left this world on July 30, 2023. Willie was a man of great character and touched the lives of many people during his time with us.

Willie dedicated over 30 years of his life to his career and retired from Pilgrim's Pride Inc. His commitment and hard work were truly admirable, making a significant impact in the workplace. Willie's dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

One of Willie's proudest accomplishments was his unwavering faith in the Lord. He was an active and devoted member of Elmo Church of God in Christ, where he found strength, peace, and community. Willie's love for God served as an inspiration to those around him.

In his free time, Willie enjoyed indulging in one of his favorite hobbies - watching football. He was especially passionate about supporting the San Francisco 49ers, always cheering them on with enthusiasm. But more than anything else, spending time with his family brought him immense joy and fulfillment.

Willie came from a close-knit family who meant everything to him. He was preceded in death by his father Mr. Willie Lee Barnes Sr. and mother Mrs. Ceola (Ellis) Barnes, three brothers: Jack Long, Robert Ellis, Otis Charles Long and his brother-in-law Ike McDonald.

He is survived by, Chris Dove (son) of Lufkin, Texas, Ola Pearl McDonald (sister) of Houston, Texas, Ella Mae Perkins (sister) of Terrell, Texas, Ella Ree Scott (sister) and husband Lloyd of Houston, Texas, Eva Hunt (sister) of Lufkin, Texas, Helen Jones (sister) and husband Pastor Daniel of Forney, Texas, Charles Barnes (brother) and wife Sheila of Lufkin, Texas along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 


To honor Willie's memory, a series of services will be held. The visitation will take place on August 4, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Elmo Church of God In Christ located at 12057 County Road 316 Terrell, Texas 75161. This will be an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and share heartfelt memories.

Immediately following the visitation will be the Homegoing Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM this event will provide an opportunity for everyone to come together in celebrating the life of Willie Lee Barnes Jr.

Finally, a meaningful interment ceremony will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell, Texas where this will serve as a final resting place for Willie.

Willie Lee Barnes Jr.'s legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering faith will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. May he rest in eternal peace.
