Virginia Sue Reid-Yost

Virginia Sue Reid-Yost, age 83, passed away in September of 2026 in Terrell, Texas. Virginia was born on February 28, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Sue Allyn (Stripling) Martin, who raised Virginia alongside Hobart Earle Martin.

Virginia was a happy, loving, and caring woman who gave generously of her time and talents throughout her life. She was active in and deeply loved theatre, where she found great joy and friendship. She was also a devoted florist for Good Shepherd Church, spending every Saturday night preparing beautiful flowers for Sunday services. Virginia loved to travel as well, her trip to Ireland and Hawaii being especially memorable.

Virginia was a longtime member of the Pilots Club and proudly served as its president. She also enjoyed a long and varied career, including work as an executive secretary for CBS in New York, in advertising for Tracy Lock, assisting Trudy Francis at Hallmark, and as the accounting supervisor at MeterTex for 25 years.

Those who knew Virginia will always remember her vibrant smile and happy nature. She was someone who offered good advice, listened with care, and was always willing to help others. Her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched many lives, and she will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

Virginia is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Smith; nephew, Brandon D. and wife Michelle; nephew, Stripling Smith; great nephews, Jett Smith, Kevin Yost, Keith Yost, and Kenneth Yost; stepsons, Donnie and Robbie Yost, along with her long-time friends, Cindy Knight and Bonnie Riechel. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Don Yost and parents, Hobart and Sue Martin.
