Sergeant Major Robert Edward Mills, a proud veteran, loving husband, and devoted family man, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Kaufman, Texas. Born on February 14, 1940, in Upland, Pennsylvania, he lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

Robert was the beloved husband of the late Sigrid Mills and the son of Howard and Elizabeth Mills. He is survived by his two daughters, Angel Moore and Michelle Mills; four grandchildren, Athena Mills, Daphne Earnhardt, Karine McAllister, and Rory McAllister; as well as six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who brought him immense joy.

A distinguished career in the United States Army defined much of Robert's life. Enlisting on July 24, 1959, he served his country with honor for nearly three decades until his retirement on March 31, 1989. Rising to the rank of Sergeant Major at Fort Bliss in Texas, Robert exemplified leadership and commitment throughout his military service. His pride in serving his country was evident to all who knew him. Beyond his military achievements, Robert was a loving husband and devoted father. His legacy lives through the lives of those he touched. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

With the recent passing of his beloved wife, Sigrid Mills, the memorial service will be to honor this loving couple together, as they were two halves of the same soul and their love eternal. A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home, 301 W. Nash Street, Terrell, Texas. The family will hold a private gathering afterward at Robert and Sigrid's home.
