Marvin Ray Corry, a beloved member of the community, passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on September 4, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, Marvin led an inspirational life that touched the hearts of those around him.

Marvin devoted an impressive 54 years and 1,000,000 miles to his career as a truck driver. For over five decades, he navigated the roads with skill and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Beyond his professional achievements, Marvin had an enthusiasm for life that was truly infectious. He had a deep love for adventure and exploration, having embarked on an astounding 30 cruise ship trips during his lifetime. His passion for travel took him to various corners of the world, enriching his experiences and broadening his horizons.


Marvin's service to his country was also remarkable. He proudly served in the United States Navy, where he exemplified courage and patriotism. His selfless sacrifice in defending our great nation will always be remembered and honored by those who knew him.


One of his most recent hobbies was to dedicate himself to the artistry of woodworking. With precision and creativity, he transformed raw materials into beautiful pieces that would leave anyone in awe.
Outside of woodworking, Marvin found comfort in tending to his garden. Marvin had a way of bringing life and beauty into the smallest corners of the world.

On March 13, 1988, Marvin married the love of his life. Through thick and thin, they built a strong foundation for their relationship based on love, respect, and unwavering support for one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example to all who knew them - a shining beacon of what true partnership could look like.

Family meant everything to Marvin. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Kenneth Corry and Daphine (Bass) Corry. They were pillars of support in his life and their memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who love Marvin.

Marvin leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories shared with many family and friends including his loving wife Brenda Corry, brother Kenneth Corry, children: Burrell Corry, Carl Corry, Peggy Corry Roach and Bunny Corry; grandchildren: Cheri Rene Green, Malissa Dawn Margrave, Matthew Caley, Amanda McBride, Bobby Bustos, Corry White and Carl Corry Jr.; great grandchildren: Mackenzy Hixon, Brayden Burris, Cedric McBride, Padric McBride, Johnny White, Matthew White, Daniel White and Cora Rey Green.

He made meaningful connections throughout his journey, touching the lives of countless individuals through kindness, compassion, and an ever-present smile on his face.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Marvin's life will be held at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home located at 301 W Nash St., Terrell, TX 75160 on December 1, 2023. The event will begin at 3:00 pm and conclude at 5:00 pm, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to come together and honor the incredible life of this exceptional man.

Marvin Ray Corry will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His infectious laughter, warm heart, and unwavering spirit will forever be etched in our memories. May he rest in peace, knowing the positive impact he had on the lives of so many.
