Marie B. Wiley, also known as Ricky, passed away on August 27, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. She was born on June 19, 1925, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her warm spirit and unwavering kindness.

Marie dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving others as a Mental Health Worker at Terrell State Hospital in Terrell, Texas. Her selflessness and commitment to improving the lives of those struggling with mental health will always be remembered and cherished by both her colleagues and the patients she cared for. Marie's passion for her work permeated every aspect of her life, leaving an indelible mark on the community she served.

Outside of her career, Marie found solace in creative pursuits. She possessed incredible talent in sewing, quilting, and crafting. Her nimble fingers brought life to countless intricate designs and beautiful creations. Marie's love for these hobbies not only provided her with joy but also allowed her to spread that joy to family and friends through heartfelt gifts that will be treasured forever.

Marie's loving spirit extended beyond her hobbies as she always made time for family and friends. She was a pillar of strength and support for her loved ones, offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love in abundance. Her nurturing nature fostered deep connections with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth R. Wiley, her parents Henry and Blandon (Nettie) Brown, her son Gary Wiley, brother John Henry Brown and nephew Charlie Brown.


She is survived by her loving son Kenneth "Van" Wiley and his wife Judy of Terrell, TX; her sister Barbara "Bo" Booksch of Gross State, LA; her sister Merle Dockins of Natchitoches, LA; her grandson James R. Wiley of Terrell, TX; her granddaughter Ann Brett and husband Brian of Milton, FL; her grandson Leslie Wayne and wife Lulu of Arlington, TX; her granddaughter Lori Poole and husband Rob of Canton, TX; her grandson Mickey Porter of Starkville, MS; her grandson Brian Porter and wife Melanie of Wills Point, TX; her grandson Kenny Wiley and wife Stephanie of Emory, TX. Marie is also survived by her 15 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy for her. Additionally, she is survived by her niece Blandon Glorioso, niece Nancy Hurley, niece Fran Booksch, niece Glenda McCollister, and nephew Johnny Brown.

A Visitation to celebrate Marie's life will be held on August 29, 2023 at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Terrell, TX. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On August 30, 2023, a Funeral Service will take place at the same location at 10:00 AM. Following the Funeral Service, a Graveside Service will be held at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell, TX where she will be laid to rest by her husband Kenneth Randall Wiley and son Gary Wiley.


Marie's memory will forever be etched in our hearts as we remember her kindheartedness and unwavering devotion to those around her. She was a beacon of light during dark times and an embodiment of love. Her compassionate nature will continue to inspire us all to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

As we say our final goodbyes to Marie "Ricky" B. Wiley, let us remember the beautiful life she led and the incredible impact she had on those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly within our hearts. Rest in eternal peace, dear Marie.
