Margie Maxwell

Margie Marie Maxwell passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 surrounded by her daughters Regina & Donna at the age of 81. She was born on August 14, 1942 in Anniston, Alabama to Odie & Lucille Whaley. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edward Maxwell, Sr. of 42 years; second husband, Kenneth “Mr.Ford”; daughter, Sheila Marie Bulgawitz; son, Lee Edward Maxwell Jr.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Regina & husband William Bloyed; daughter, Donna and husband Mark Gafford; grandchildren, Chris, Candice, Karen, Kristy and Rob, Preston, Samantha and Taylor, Cameron and Stephanie, Kyle, Alaina; great grandchildren, Beau, Lee, Weston, Dean, plus 8; Niece, Billie Sue White and husband Tommy.

Margie was born in Anniston, Alabama but moved to Texas in 1962. She graduated with high honors from Anniston High School. She has always been a hard worker, even at a young age. She worked as a car hop at a sandwich shop during high school. Once she moved to Texas, she began working at Buddy Schoellkopf as a Supervisor and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. She married Lee Edward Maxwell, Sr. after high school and remained married for 42 years. After the passing of her first husband, she was reunited with her second husband Kenneth Ford, which she knew in high school. If you knew Margie, then you know she loved her family. She loved to hang out, have a cup of coffee, smoke a cigarette and just visit on the porch with family and friends. She would always say “sit down” and visit. You knew she had her favorite smoke buddy’s. If you are one of them, then you know it meant the world to her. Her favorite thing to do was go gambling with her daughters, Regina & Donna. All they had to do was call & say “momma get ready, we are on our way to get you” and she would be ready to go. Give her a slot machine, a margarita, a cigarette and she was in her element! And….don’t talk about her son in laws Mark & William. She was spoiled by them and they could do “no wrong”. As we celebrate her life & have a margarita toast, she would want us to know she lived a full life and is at peace. Her memories will carry on in our hearts for many years to come. We will never forget our momma & MeMe!
