Lucy Simmons

Elizabeth Ann (Self) Simmons, age 62, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023 surrounded by some of her close loved ones. Elizabeth, or better known as Lucy was born on December 30, 1960 in Tyler, Texas to parents Lloyd and Loette Self.

Lucy was a strong woman of faith and appreciated and reflected beauty in all that she did. She lived a full and happy life that was filled with joy and radiance. Lucy loved the outdoors and the peace it brought to her. She enjoyed doing the yard work such as mowing the yard no matter how hot it may be outside. She loved to sit outside in the mornings to watch the birds come to her birdhouses and listen to the wind blow through her wind chimes. Lucy cherished all her family and friends. Not only was she dedicated to her family, but she loved her job and all her coworkers. She was employed with Archer Western for 14 plus years where she made lots of good memories and was honored to be a part of the team. Gentle, kind, humble and loving are all words that describe her best with each relationship she fostered.

Lucy is preceded in death by her grandparents Gordie and Essie Easley, Cecil Farrell, Eria Alnettie Farrell and Zoyalvie Self.

Those left with cherished memories are her loving husband of 33 years John “Red” Simmons and their son Dustin Simmons; parents Lloyd and Loette Self; children: Debbie Keeble and husband John, Jamie Monk and husband Kevin, Christopher Simmons and wife Millie; brother Michael Self and wife Melody; sister Paula Satterfield and husband Billy; grandchildren:  Shayla Obenshain and husband Karl, Scot Keeble and wife Jessyca , Taylor Delka and husband Elliot, Jacob Stiff and wife Alley, Marisa Monk, Hannah McMahan and husband Colby, Jordan Stiff and wife Aglacia, Keifer Simmons and Mason Simmons; great grandchildren: Ember, Arrow, Nova, Maverick, Edison, Luna, Wilder, Harley, Lennon, Evie, Collins, Saydee, Alaric, Vivian, Violet and Chandler along with numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family and close friends who will miss her immensely.
