Humberto era conocido por su personalidad amorosa y extrovertida, siempre sonriendo, riendo, haciendo bromas, le encantaba hablar sobre sus experiencias de la vida y dar consejos a quien los necesitaba. También amaba la naturaleza, ya fuera yendo a los lagos o afuera cocinando en la parrilla escuchando su música favorita. Construir cosas afuera también fue algo que siempre disfrutó como pasatiempo y definitivamente le gustó su Texas Lotto. Le gustaba ir a bailar con su esposa música tejana y estando con sus hijos y nietos siempre lo tenía alegre. Siempre estuvo lleno de vida y, sobre todo, lo que mas le encantaba era pasar tiempo estando con toda la familia.

A Humberto le sobreviven su esposa, Gregoria Resendiz; sus 7 hijos, Alejandro Mata, Heriberto Mata, Ariana Mata, Pedro Humberto Mata Jr, Oscar Mojica, Eloyza Ramírez y Tony Mojica; hermanos, Jesus, Luis, Tomás, Margarita, Jose, Martin,Guadalupe; y nietos, sobrinas, sobrinos y primos. Fue precedido por sus padres, Remedios Montiel y Pedro Mata y su 2 hermanas Maria y Cruz

Humberto Mata Montiel, age 58, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Humberto was born in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico, to his mother Remedios Montiel and his father Pedro Mata on March 24, 1968.

Humberto was known for his loving and outgoing personality, always smiling, laughing, making jokes, and he loved talking about his life experiences and giving advice to those who needed it. He also loved nature, whether it was going to the lakes or being outside grilling while listening to his favorite music. Building things outdoors was also something he always enjoyed as a hobby, and he definitely enjoyed his Texas Lotto. He liked going dancing with his wife to Tejano music, and being with his children and grandchildren always kept him happy. He was always full of life and, above all, what he loved most was spending time with the whole family.

Humberto is survived by his wife, Gregoria Resendiz; his 7 children, Alejandro Mata, Heriberto Mata, Ariana Mata, Pedro Humberto Mata Jr., Oscar Mojica, Eloyza Ramírez, and Tony Mojica; siblings, Jesus, Luis, Tomás, Margarita, Jose, Martin, and Guadalupe; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Remedios Montiel and Pedro Mata, and his 2 sisters, Maria and Cruz.
