Herman Lee Kennedy

Herman Lee Kennedy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 18, 2025, at the age of 87 in Forney, Texas. Born on November 22, 1937, in Seagraves, Texas, Herman lived a life rich in love, commitment to family, and a dedication to service that touched the lives of many.

Herman proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and this time in the military greatly shaped who he was. He learned important values like honor and determination that he carried with him throughout life. After leaving the Navy, Herman dedicated 30 years of his working life at Bell Helicopter and LTV Vought Aircraft, where his hard work and skills made a positive impact. Outside of his job, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him happiness. Herman loved golfing, fishing, bowling, and playing softball. These activities were not just fun; they also allowed him to spend quality time with friends and family. Rather on the green, by the water, or at the bowling alley, he cherished the moments he shared with those he cared about. Herman's life was a balance of service to his country, dedication to his work, and enjoyment of simple pleasures with loved ones.

Herman is survived by his devoted wife, Ellen Joyce Kennedy, whose unwavering support and love were the cornerstones of their life together. Their bond was a testament to the power of partnership, and together they nurtured a family that reflects the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience; his children: Cheryl Kennedy Hebert and her husband Chuck, Sherrie Blodgett and her husband Tim, Michael Kennedy and his wife M'Kale, Debbie Tuttle, Dawn Ward and her husband Steve, Ricky Appenzeller with his wife Chris and Vickie Strang; siblings, Wylie Kent Kennedy and Janie Sue Cox, who will forever hold dear the memories of their shared childhood and the laughter that filled their home. Herman's legacy extends to his 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His 17 nieces and nephews also cherished their time with him, creating a tapestry of memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

As we celebrate Herman's life, we invite all who knew him to remember the warmth of his smile, the strength of his character, and the love he so freely gave. He will be profoundly missed but will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the love he instilled in each of us.
