Brent Sterling Guiou

Brent Guiou passed away on May 13, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1960, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Gordon Guiou and Wanda Fay (Evans) Guiou.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Moore Guiou; his mother, Wanda Fay Guiou; and his beloved wife, Kristi Guiou.

Brent met the love of his life, Kristi, while working as an EMT technician, while she worked as an administrative clerk at Bryan Hospital. The two married in 1982 and built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and friendships. 

In his spare time, Brent enjoyed bass fishing, throwing horseshoes, and spending time at the family lake cabin at Lake Fork. After retiring in 2003 from Winkleman & Associates Land Surveying as a Party Chief, he truly embraced life, enjoying time with friends, visiting local watering holes around town, relaxing by the pool, and making memories with family and loved ones. Brent was known for his fun-loving spirit, his ability to make people laugh, and the good times he shared with everyone around him.

He leaves behind his daughter, Amanda and husband Marcus Guzman; his son, Justin and wife Sara Thomas; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Slepski, Michael Juarez, Abel Juarez, and Grayson Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and numerous dear friends.

Brent will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While our hearts mourn his loss, we find comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is reunited once again with his wife, Kristi.
