Bette Flowers, a beloved member of the Terrell and Kaufman communities, passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 76. She had been living in Rockwall, Texas. She will be remembered for her dedicated career and her deep love for her family.
Born on November 23, 1946, in Kaufman, Texas, Bette was the daughter of George Carr and Onis Christopher. She had a close bond with her family, including her father George Carr, mother Onis Irene Carr (Christopher), brother Tucker Cox and sister, Judy Ford. Bette's simple and loving personality endeared her to all who knew her.
Bette dedicated many years of her life to serving the State of Texas. She retired following forty (40) years of service from the State of Texas’ Mental and Prison Systems. Her dedication to those with whom she worked was evident throughout her career.
Outside of work, Bette cherished moments spent with her loved ones. Family meant everything to her, and she found joy in creating lasting memories together. Bette's son Jerry Flowers (spouse - Lisa), daughter Jana Jordan (spouse - David), sister Judy Ford (spouse - Terry) were fortunate to have such a loving presence in their lives. Bette's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Tara Flowers, Adam Flowers (spouse – Courtney), Dillon Jordan (spouse – Emily), Austin Jordan (spouse – Morgan), and Hunter White (spouse – Marshall). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Meredith Adams, Charlie White, Nathaniel Flowers.
Bette Flowers will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who dedicated her life to serving others. Her love for family and her community leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Bette's legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire generations to come. She loved spending time with her family, watching old movies and TV shows, reading, crocheting, and sewing. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
To honor Bette's life and pay tribute to the impact she had on others; visitation will be held at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home located at 301 W Nash St., Terrell, Texas on Tuesday, October 3rd from 11:00 am to 12:00. A graveside service will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Terrell, Texas, following the visitation.
The staff at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Terrell is honored to assist Bette’s family with the arrangements celebrating her life.
